This set is one of the best things I’ve ever seen on flickr. You really captured the era. Thanks.
I found the background buildings on Google Maps street view. They are still standing.
i was born & raised in boro park , either (my 1st home) 52nd st between 18th & 19th ave , from 1961 till 1969 when we made the big move to our own home on 49th between the same aves, till i left for the military in 82. been back to Bay Ridge from time to time, as i now reside in Raleigh Nc & have a family of my own..but your making me sick for my youth & the place i was lucky enough to have spent it..thanx so much .
The reason why people didn’t care so much if you sat on their cars back then was because the cars were made of metal whereas now it’s made of fiberglass where a strong wind just about dents your car. But you’re right…those were the good old days.

Terrific contemporary capture of middle class guys in an already bygone era. This picture will be a gem someday.
This is a great shot – takes you back in the day when times were good & fun – thanks for sharing !!
